"Hanuman, over the island of Hawai'i, in the center of the Pacific, holds Earth in his hands. In 2016, the Year of the Fire Monkey, I painted Hanuman. It was the year Bernie Sanders ran for president, giving so many young people hope for the future. My Hanuman is in honor of the Fire Monkey, who brings passion, creativity, and truth. I dedicate this to those who work to tell the truth, give young people hope for the future, inspire their passion and creativity, and visualize the future in more positive ways for the world in which we live today." –Mayumi Oda
A giclée (zhee-KLAY) is a fine art archival pigment print. A reproduction of an original art work, the piece is digitally photographed and then precisely reproduced on a large format printer.
Our giclées are printed using the longest lasting pigmented inks on the finest papers available. We use a water based pigment printer on pH balanced paper or fabric. The best quality prints are currently created with 12-color ink sets, as used by our printer.
At this time, this is the only format in which to own Mayumi’s large thangka paintings.
Please note: Large size giclée is a special order item. We will print upon purchase. Please allow several extra days for processing.
