“Queen Mother of the West, called Seiobo or Xi Wang Mu, was an ancient Chinese Taoist woman sage of long life who lived on Mount Kunlun. It is said that she grew the immortal peach, which bears fruit only once every 3,000 years. Various emperors tried to steal the sacred fruit. Xi Wang Mu became a tiger to protect the juiciness of life.
Here she stands on a bridge offering the pink, juicy peach underneath the immortal phoenix. On the cliff behind her, grow medicinal reishi mushrooms.”

A giclée (zhee-KLAY) is a fine art archival pigment print. A reproduction of an original art work, the piece is digitally photographed and then precisely reproduced on a large format printer.
Our giclées are printed using the longest lasting pigmented inks on the finest papers available. We use a water based pigment printer on pH balanced paper or fabric. The best quality prints are currently created with 12-color ink sets, as used by our printer.
At this time, this is the only format in which to own Mayumi’s large thangka paintings. Each giclée is signed by Mayumi and includes Japanese calligraphy along the border. Due to their hand-painted nature, calligraphy will vary slightly.
