From Mayumi Oda's Woman Calendar Series--Large Prints.
Created in 1970, Edition of 50 Hand-pulled Silkscreens.
"A small print from the Woman Calendar Series was the first silkscreen that I ever printed. I was fascinated by working with color, and I drew upon my background as a fabric major. The silkscreen technique was similar to working with color over fabric. Traditional Japanese kimono design and patterns from lacquer wares combined with my feeling for each season brought this series to life. It was almost like a pictorial diary of how I thought of the calendar, the activities and beauty of each season".
